Vertal Awarded UAA Offensive Athlete of the Week

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) - Junior Ethan Vertal was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Men's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week for his performance during a 2-0 week for the Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team.

Vertal continued his scoring prowess with another pair of goals in a single game, his third multi-goal outing in a four-game span, to lead the 18th-ranked Tartans to a 3-0 home win against Washington & Jefferson College on Tuesday, September 13. The forward put all three of his shots on goal for the game and recorded the second and third goals of the match to help the Tartans in their fourth shutout of the season. The junior returned Saturday to play 45 minutes against Bethany, a 2-1 win for the Tartans.

Vertal and the newly eighth-ranked Tartans return to the pitch on Wednesday, September 21 at Mount Aloysius College. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. for the 6-0 Tartans and the 2-4-1 Mounties.
