Men’s Swimming Receives Team Scholar Award from CSCAA

The Carnegie Mellon University men’s swimming and diving team was honored by the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) with a Team Scholar All-America award as five individuals were also named. The 2013 CSCAA Scholar Al-America Team and Individual Scholar All-Americans are supported by Nike.

The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team had a huge final day at the University Athletic Association Championships which pushed them to second place after entering the day in fourth. Sophomore Anton Razanav (San Diego, Calif./Westview) and junior Edward Sears (Boca Raton, Fla./Spanish River) brought home individual championships while the 1,650-yard freestyle had four finish in the top 10.

The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team was led by three third place finishes on Friday, February 15 on the second day of the University Athletic Association Championships hosted by the University of Chicago. The Tartans are currently in fourth place but sit just 4.5 points behind Case Western Reserve University for third place.

Sophomore men’s swimmer Anton Razanav has made a big impact at Carnegie Mellon. A member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council, Razanav was crowned the University Athletic Association champion in the 200-yard backstroke last year before earning All-America Honorable Mention distinction as part of the 400-yard medley relay team that competed at the NCAA Championships.
