The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team was honored by the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) with a Team Scholar All-America award as five individuals were also named. The 2014 CSCAA Scholar All-America Team and Individual Scholar All-Americans are supported by Nike.

As the final results were calculated from the 2014 University Athletic Association (UAA) Swimming and Diving Championships, which took place over three days and in two cities, the Carnegie Mellon University men’s team finished fourth with 1,116 points. Emory University squeaked out the team victory by 3.5 points over the University of Chicago.

The University Athletic Association (UAA) Swimming and Diving Championships continued on Saturday at Emory University in Atlanta, Ga., as the Carnegie Mellon University men's team picked up five NCAA provisional cut times during the final swim. Final results of the championships will be available Monday after results are merged from the satellite meet at Case Western Reserve University.

The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team traveled to Atlanta, Ga., on Friday, February 14 for the University Athletic Association Swimming and Diving Championships hosted by Emory University. As inclement weather hit the Atlanta area, three competing teams were unable to make it in, thus requiring a satellite meet that is being hosted by Case Western Reserve University. Final results to determine champions will be compiled late Sunday evening or Monday morning.

Freshman Mark Smith (Clarendon Hills, Ill./Hinsdale Central), junior Christian Heaney-Secord (Westwood, Mass./Westwood) and senior Zachary Erra-Hernandez (Las Cruces, N.M./Onate) were each named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athletes of the Week in their respective sports for their performance during the last week. Smith earned the award for men’s swimming, Heaney-Secord for men’s tennis and Erra-Hernandez for men’s track and field.

The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team, who is ranked fifth in the nation by the CSCAA, continued its dual meet win streak with two wins on Saturday, November 16 against Washington & Lee University and Allegheny College at home in the University Center pool. The Tartans are now 6-0 on the season after defeating the Generals by a score of 180-77 and the Gators by a score of 181-68.

Each November the Carnegie Mellon University men's and women's swimming and diving teams participate in the Ted Mullin "Leave it in the Pool Hour of Power" Relay. The event marks the sixth year the team participated in the relay. The event helps raise funds to support research at the University of Chicago into the causes and treatment of sarcoma, a rare soft-tissue cancer, in young people.
