Riek Swims to Another All-America Finish

(SHENANDOAH, Texas) - Sophomore Mitchell Riek (Sunland, Calif./Bishop Alemany) picked up another All-America finish at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships for the Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team on Friday, March 17. Riek swam in the 200-yard butterfly finals for the second straight year on Friday.

In the morning preliminaries, Riek finished the 200-yard butterfly in a season-best 1:48.77 to qualify with the eighth best time. In the finals session Friday evening, Riek touched seventh in 1:48.92 to earn the fifth All-America honor of his career.

Riek has one more event to swim at the championships and will do so Saturday when he competes in the 1,650-yard freestyle in the final evening session of the meet.
