Divers Sweep UAA Athlete of the Week Awards

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon University junior Maddie Mianzo (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Allegheny) and sophomore James Kyle (Austin, Texas / St. Stephen's Episcopal School) of the swimming and diving teams earned University Athletic Association (UAA) Diving Athlete of the Week honors following their season-opening performances at the Kenyon College Relays.

Mianzo placed first and fourth in the diving events over the weekend. The junior won the 1-meter board with a score of 226.60 and finished fourth on the 3-meter board with a score of 228.10 after six dives apiece.

Kyle was twice victorious over the weekend, earning the top place on the 1-meter and 3-meter boards. He scored 268.15 on the 1-meter board and 293.25 on the 3-meter board following six dives apiece.

Both will dive again as the Tartans host Case Western Reserve University for a dual meet on Saturday, October 26 at 1:00 p.m.
