Britton Honored as UAA Athlete of the Week

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming junior Justin Britton (Falls Church, Va. / George Mason) was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week for his performance at the Tartans dual meet against Case Western Reserve University.

Britton earned two victories in the backstroke events in a 234-66 dual meet win against Case Western Reserve on Saturday. He first led off the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 23.73 in the 50-yard portion of the backstroke. That time ranks third in the nation. He later won the 100-yard backstroke by more than a second in 50.51, which is the top time in the nation. His last win came in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 1:54.37, which was more than two seconds faster than the second-place finisher and is currently 14th in the nation.

The Tartans will return to the pool on Saturday, November 2 at Grove City College.
