Men's Swimming and Diving Honored by CSCAA for Academics

The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team was honored by the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) with a Team Scholar All-America award as 12 individuals were also named CSCAA Scholar All-Americans.

Britton Named CoSIDA Academic All-American for Third Time

Carnegie Mellon University men’s swimming and diving senior Justin Britton (Falls Church, Va. / George Mason) has been honored with the third College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America award of his career. Britton was selected to the first team for the second time while he earned second-team honors as a sophomore.

Britton, Knauth Honored with CoSIDA Academic All-District Awards

Seniors Justin Britton (Falls Church, Va. / George Mason) and William Knauth (Williamsport, Pa. / Williamsport Area) have been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District At-Large Team for 2022. The honor is the third for Britton while Knauth is a repeat honoree from last year.

Tartans Close NCAA Championships with All 11 Competitors Earning All-America Recognition

All 11 Carnegie Mellon University men's swimmers and divers who competed at the 2022 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships earned All-America or All-America Honorable Mention recognition by finishing in the top 16 of at least one event by the conclusion of the meet on Saturday, March 19. The Tartans finished 14th out of 43 schools that scored a point during the championships for their best finish since 2005.

The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team earned more points at the 2022 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday, March 18, when senior Justin Britton (Falls Church, Va. / George Mason) took sixth in the 100-yard backstroke. The meet is being held at the IUPUI IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Eleven Earn Placement to Compete at NCAA Championships

Eleven athletes from the Carnegie Mellon University men’s swimming and diving program have earned the right to compete at the 2022 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships. Of the 11 men invited this year, nine were set to compete in 2020 when the Tartans also had 11 selected to compete which is the most for the championships under 15-year head coach Matthew Kinney. The championships will be hosted by the Franklin College and the Indiana Sports Corp at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Indiana, on March 16-19.

Kyle Wins 3-Meter Event at NCAA Diving Regional

Senior James Kyle (Austin, Texas / St. Stephen's Episcopal School) advanced to the 2022 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships after claiming first place on the 3-meter diving board at the 2022 NCAA Division III Region 4 Diving Championships hosted by Ithaca College on Friday, February 25 and Saturday, February 26.
