Tartans Remain in Second Place at Kenyon Total Performance Invitational

(GAMBIER, Ohio) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming team is in second place after the second day of competition at the Kenyon College Total Performance Invitational.

The 200-yard medley relay of senior Justin Britton (Falls Church, Va. / George Mason), senior Colin Daniel (Westfield, N.J. / Westfield), junior Erik Feldman (Yakima, Wash. / West Valley) and junior Matthew Nagler (West Chicago, Ill. / St. Charles East) finished fourth in a season-best time of 1:30.82.

Senior Richard Dauksher (Fort Collins, Colo. / Fossil Ridge) led three Tartans in the A-Final of the 400-yard IM with a second-place showing in 3:57.65 which was two seconds faster than his prelims time.

Daniel made the A-Final of the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 49.58 and finished 10th in 49.92. Senior Sean Ream (Canton, Ohio / Jackson) won the B-Final in 49.38 to record the team's top time.

Junior John McNab (Westport, Conn. / Staples) placed seventh in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:41.47 with senior Daniel Ng (Buffalo Grove, Ill. / Adlai E. Stevenson) touching in ninth in 1:42.17.

Freshman Christian Lanuza (Greenwich, Conn. / Greenwichled four Tartans in the A-Final of the 100-yard breaststroke by finishing fifth in 56.15. Daniel was just behind Lanuza in sixth place in 56.62.

Britton swam the 100-yard backstroke in 49.79 to place fourth with senior Jonathan Hua (New Providence, N.J. / Delbarton) touching 10th in 52.60.

The 800-yard freestyle relay of Dauksher, Ng, Feldmann and McNab closed the meet with a third-place finish in a time of 6:44.46.

Competition resumes Saturday morning with prelims at 10:30 a.m. for the final day of events.
