Tartans Close NCAA Championships with All 11 Competitors Earning All-America Recognition

(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) - All 11 Carnegie Mellon University men's swimmers and divers who competed at the 2022 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships earned All-America or All-America Honorable Mention recognition by finishing in the top 16 of at least one event by the conclusion of the meet on Saturday, March 19. The Tartans finished 14th out of 43 schools that scored a point during the championships for their best finish since 2005.

The Tartans had two more All-America Honorable Mention finishes on Saturday to complete the meet with two All-America finishes, four All-American Honorable Mention individual finishes with another four All-America Honorable Mention relay finishes.

Senior Justin Britton (Falls Church, Va. / George Mason) picked up two more honors and two more school records with an 11th-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:46.52 and helped to end the meet with a 10th-place showing in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Britton anchored the relay of junior Yousef Hassen (Redlands, Calif. / Redlands), junior Erik Feldmann (Yakima, Wash. / West Valley), and junior John McNab (Westport, Conn. / Staples) who topped their school record by breaking three minutes in 2:58.51.

Others swimming on Saturday included Hassen in the 100-yard freestyle, senior Richard Dauksher (Fort Collins, Colo. / Fossil Ridge) in the 200-yard backstroke, and senior Colin Daniel (Westfield, N.J. / Westfield) in the 200-yard breaststroke. Hassen placed 43rd in 45.42 seconds, Dauksher 22nd in a personal-best 1:49.03, and Daniel 28th in 2:04.47.
