(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon University freshman Kenny Zheng (Pennington, N.J./Hopewell Valley Central) was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week for his performance in helping the 11th-ranked Tartans to a come-from-behind victory at 8th-ranked Case Western Reserve University Saturday, April 5.

Zheng won the match point for the Tartans in a 5-4 thriller.  Carnegie Mellon trailed 3-0 after doubles and was down 4-1 before Zheng's No. 5 singles match even started. Amongst a noisy crowd and a knotted score at 4-4, Zheng pulled out a straight set victory, winning the second set in a tiebreaker.  The freshman won 6-3, 7-6 (11-9) over senior John Healey to give the Tartans the win.

The Tartans return to action on Saturday, April 19 when they host the 9th-ranked Lords of Kenyon College.
