Men’s Tennis Battles Division I Saint Joseph’s

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The No. 7 Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team welcomed Division I foe Saint Joseph's University to Pittsburgh on Saturday, February 4. The Tartans dropped a hard fought battle, 6-1, to the Hawks and are now 3-2 overall.

With Division I scoring in place, one-point is awarded for doubles play. The Tartans second doubles team of senior Kenny Zheng (Pennington, N.J./Hopewell Valley Central) and junior Jeffrey Chen (Carmel, Ind.) won 6-1, but the Hawks won the team point after taking first and third doubles.

The Tartans earned their loan point in singles play as freshman Robert Levin (Virginia Beach, Va./Princess Anne) won at sixth singles, 6-3, 6-4.

Carnegie Mellon will host Walsh University and Saint Francis (Pa.) University on Saturday, February 11. The two matches will be held at The Club Sport and Life in Monroeville, Pennsylvania.
