#7 Men's Tennis Opens Spring Break with Two Wins

(WHITTIER, Calif.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team opened its annual spring break trip in California with two victories on Friday, March 10. The seventh-ranked Tartans are now 8-6 for the season after topping Wabash College, 8-1, and Whittier College, 9-0.

The Tartans number one doubles team of sophomores Daniel Levine (Highland Park, Ill./Boca Prep International School) and Vayum Arora (Fremont, Calif./Mission San Jose) won twice with a pair of 8-5 victories. Levine and freshman Michael Rozenvasser (Haworth, N.J./Northern Valley Regional) each won a number one singles match with Levine topping William Reifeis of Wabash, 6-2, 6-0, while Rozenvasser defeated Thomas Koszowski of Whittier, 6-1, 6-4.

Senior Kiril Kirkov (Tampa, Fla./C. Leon King) played fifth singles in both matches, winning 6-0, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-1.

The Tartans continue action against No. 29 Swarthmore College on Saturday, March 11 at 10 a.m. PST.
