Levine Earns All-America Honors at NCAA Men’s Tennis Championships

(CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.) – Carnegie Mellon University sophomore Daniel Levine (Highland Park, Ill./Boca Prep International School) competed in the opening day 2017 NCAA Men's Tennis Singles Championship at Champions Tennis Club in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Thursday, May 25. His play on Thursday earned him All-America honors.

Levine, seeded eighth in a field of 32, drew Zachary Hewlin of Whitman College in the opening round on Thursday afternoon. The sophomore defeated Hewlin in a three-set match, 6-0, 1-6, 7-5. He trailed 5-4 in the third set before rattling off three straight games for the victory. Levine then faced University Athletic Association (UAA) opponent Nicolas Chua of the University of Chicago in the round of 16 and fell by the scores of 6-4, 6-2.

Levine finishes the season with an overall mark of 22-8 in singles play
