Tartan Pair Finishes as All-Americans at NCAA Men's Tennis Championship

(CLAREMONT, Calif.) - Junior Daniel Levine (Highland Park, Ill. / Boca Prep International School) and junior Chaz Downing (Newport Beach, Calif. / Corona Del Mar) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team closed their run at the 2018 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championships in the quarterfinals of the doubles bracket after an epic battle with a pair from University Athletic Association (UAA) rival Emory University. By advancing to the quarterfinals with their first round win on Thursday, the pair earned All-America recognition.

Friday afternoon's match went three sets with Scott Rubinstein and James Spaulding winning the first set 7-6 (7-2). The Tartan pair gathered quickly and forced a third set with a 6-2 second-set win. The third set was tightly contested with the Eagles finishing on top, 7-5.
