#14 Tartans Start UAA Play Against #7 WashU

(ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla.) - The 14th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team opened University Athletic Association (UAA) play on Friday at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida, and fell by the score of 5-1 to seventh ranked WashU. The Tartans record is now even at 8-8.

Carnegie Mellon picked up its lone point in doubles play when seniors Daniel Levine (Highland Park, Ill. / Boca Prep International School) and Chaz Downing (Newport Beach, Calif. / Corona Del Mar) won 8-4 at the top spot.

When play was stopped, the three remaining matches on court where all in the third set.

Carnegie Mellon will now play 36th-ranked NYU on Saturday in the consolation semifinals at 12:30 p.m.
