Tartans End Spring Break Trip with Loss to UAA Foe Case Western Reserve

(ORLANDO, Fla.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team concluded its spring break trip to Orlando, Florida, with a 9-0 setback to University Athletic Association foe Case Western Reserve University. The loss evens the Tartans record at 5-5 with the Spartans moving to 9-1.

Case Western Reserve swept doubles play to take a 3-0 advantage. Singles saw the Spartans win three matches in straight sets and another due to an injury retirement. At fourth and fifth singles, a three-set match was played with sophomore Nicholas Wernink (Glen Cove, N.Y. / Friends Academy) falling 6-7 (4), 7-5, 1-0 (4) at the fourth spot and freshman William Wang (Austin, Texas / Lake Travis) losing at five singles by the scores of 6-2, 3-6, 1-0 (5).

The Tartans will travel to Denison University on Saturday, March 26 for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
