ITA Honors Men’s Tennis as All-Academic Team; Nine Named Scholar Athletes

The Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team was honored for the 14th straight season and 21st time in the last 22 years by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as an ITA All-Academic Team. In addition, nine players were named ITA Scholar Athletes.

Nine Carnegie Mellon University student-athletes were named to a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for Division III, nominated by members of CSC, for the tennis and softball seasons. College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) rebranded to CSC in the summer of 2022.

Three Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis players were honored by the University Athletic Association (UAA) coaches on Tuesday with recognition on the 2023 UAA Men's Tennis All-Association Team. Senior Matthew Poh received second-team accolades for his play at fourth singles with the Tartans’ top doubles team of junior Derek Wong and freshman Akshay Joshi joining Poh on the second squad. Joshi was also recognized as honorable mention for fifth singles.

86 Carnegie Mellon Student-Athletes Earn Spring Academic Honors

A total of 86 Carnegie Mellon University student-athletes were named to the University Athletic Association’s (UAA) All-Academic Recognition list for the winter sports teams, as announced by the Association on May 4.

The 24th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team played Brandeis University in the fifth-place match of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship on Sunday in Altamonte Springs, Florida. The Tartans dropped a 5-1 match and ends the season with a mark of 7-10 while the Brandeis moves to 13-7.

The 24th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team played NYU in the consolation semifinals of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship on Saturday in Altamonte Springs, Florida. The Tartans defeated the Violets 5-4 and are now 7-9 on the season as the Violets move to 5-5.

The 24th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team opened University Athletic Association (UAA) play on Friday at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida, and dropped a 5-2 match to ninth-ranked University of Chicago. The Tartans record is now 6-9 as the Maroons move to 15-3.

The Carnegie Mellon University men’s tennis team, ranked 22nd, traveled to Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday to play the nation’s top ranked team, Case Western Reserve University. The Tartans dropped a 7-2 decision and are now 6-8 on the season while the Spartans improved to 24-4.

The Carnegie Mellon University men’s tennis team hosted Division I Duquesne University on Thursday, April 13. The Tartans, ranked 22nd in Division III, fell to the Dukes, 7-2 to move to 6-7 overall.

The Carnegie Mellon University men’s tennis team, ranked 23rd, finished its spring break contests with a 5-4 victory against 19th-ranked Southwestern University on Friday, March 10 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida. The Tartans are now 5-5 overall while the Pirates fell for the first time and are 5-1.
