Jangbahadur Named ITA Regional Rookie of the Year

(TEMPE, Ariz.) – Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis freshman Raghav Jangbahadur was honored as the Division III Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Atlantic Regional Rookie of the Year.

Jangbahadur has accumulated an 18-9 singles record and won the ITA Southeast Regional in the fall. While at the ITA Cup, the first-year Tartan won his opening match before falling to last year's NCAA runner-up. Jangbahadur was also named to the University Athletic Association first team at first singles, second team at first doubles, and the UAA Rookie of the Year.

In doubles play, Jangbahadur paired with freshman Daniel Kong to finish the year with a 13-15 record. The first-year duo won the ITA Southeast Regional and won two matches on the national stage at the ITA Cup in the fall.

Jangbahadur will play in the singles bracket of the NCAA Division III Championship with play beginning on Saturday, May 25 at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in St. Louis, Missouri.
