Vandenberg Garners UAA Honor

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Junior Thomas Vandenberg (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's outdoor track and field team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week for running events.  The junior received the honor following his performance at the Bucknell Bison Classic this past weekend.

Vandenberg was impressive in his first 800-meter race of the outdoor season when he finished sixth out of a field comprised of Division I, II and III athletes with a time of 1:52.46. His time currently is tops in the UAA and ranks seventh in the nation.

Vandenberg and the Tartans will be competing again this Wednesday, April 16 at Gesling Stadium in the Carnegie Mellon Tri Meet.
