Degen Places 14th in 10K at NCAA Outdoor Championships

(CANTON, N.Y.) - Senior George Degen (Madison, Wis./West) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team competed at the 2015 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday, May 21. Degen competed in the 10,000-meter run after qualifying for the event in early April at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic.

Degen finished the 10K at the championships in 14th place in a time of 31:43.69. Degen closes his Tartan career with a school record in the event, as his best finish came at the Bison Outdoor Classic in 30:13.03.

Fellow senior Thomas Vandenberg (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck) will step on the track on Friday, May 22 to race in the preliminaries of the 800-meter run at 7:00 p.m.
