Vandenberg Earns All-America Honors at NCAA Championships

(CANTON, N.Y.) - Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field senior Thomas Vandenberg (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck) finished in eighth place in the finals of the 800-meter run at the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Division III Track and Field Championships on Saturday afternoon. The championships were held at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y.

Vandenberg crossed the finish line with a time of 1:54.60 to take eighth place and earn All-America honors.

This is the fourth All-America honor for Vandenberg and first on the outdoor track.  He earned a pair of All-America honors this past indoor season and one at the 2014 indoor championships.  

Vandenberg ends his collegiate career holding the school record in the 800 with a time of 1:50.05 which he set at the Allegheny College Gator Invitational on Friday, May 8.
