Men’s and Women’s Track Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Awards

The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the 2016 Division III All-Academic Track & Field Teams and Carnegie Mellon University was included on the lists for the 10th consecutive year. A total of 112 men’s teams and 175 women’s teams earned the distinction as a result of a cumulative team GPA of 3.1 or better.

Norley Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

Carnegie Mellon University junior Owen Norley (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Kenston) has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team for men's cross country and track and field for the 2015-16 season. CoSIDA recognizes outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments by honoring deserving athletes with All-Academic recognition.
Tartans Compete at 11th Annual Gator Invitational

The Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team competed at the 11th Annual Gator Invitational host by Allegheny College on Friday, May 13. The Tartans turned in two top finishes with wins in the 800-meter run and 1,500-meter run.
Walters Named UAA Outdoor Track and Field Rookie of the Year

Freshman Rai Walters (Westlake, Ohio/St. Ignatius) of the Carnegie Mellon University men’s track and field team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Outdoor Rookie of the Year when the league office announced its postseason accolades Thursday, April 28.

Men’s Track and Field Places Second at UAA Championships

The Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team finished second scoring 137 points during the two-day University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships meet. The host, Washington University of St. Louis, won the meet scoring 161.5 points. This marked the fourth time the Tartans have finished second in the past five championships.

The Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team placed third at the Westminster College Invitational on Saturday, April 16. The Tartans won two events to go with six other finishes in the top four for the meet.
Tartan Men’s Track and Field Earns Win at CMU Quad Meet

The Carnegie Mellon University men’s track and field team won the CMU Quad Meet on Saturday, April 2 with 205 points, just topping Penn State Behrend who finished with 198 points. Westminster College placed third with 164 points while Saint Vincent College was fourth with 64 points.
Schofel Named UAA Field Athlete of the Week

Sophomore Jacob Schofel (Livingston, N.J./Livingston) of the Carnegie Mellon University men’s track and field team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week for field events following his performance at the Carnegie Mellon University Mini Invitational on Friday and Saturday, March 25-26. Schofel won the hammer throw and placed fourth in the shot put and javelin as he helped the Tartans win the invitational.
Men’s Track and Field Place First at Home Mini Invitational

The Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team hosted its Mini Invitational on Friday and Saturday, March 25-26 at Gesling Stadium. The Tartans placed first with 311 points after winning 11 events against Waynesburg University, Denison University, Allegheny College and Franciscan University.
Men’s Track & Field Opens Outdoor Season at W&L Carnival

The Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team traveled south to Lexington, Virginia for the Washington and Lee Track and Field Carnival hosted by Washington and Lee University at Foster Stadium on Friday and Saturday, March 18-19. The Tartans turned in three first-place showings in the first meet of the spring.
Norley Places Sixth at NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

Junior Owen Norley (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Kenston) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team competed in the finals of the mile run at the 2016 NCAA Indoor Division III Track and Field Championships on Saturday, March 12. The junior garnered All-America honors after placing sixth.

Junior Owen Norley (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Kenston) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team competed at the 2016 NCAA Indoor Division III Track and Field Championships on Friday afternoon at the Charles Benson Bear '39 Recreation and Athletic Center in Grinnell, Iowa, with Grinnell College serving as the official host. The junior advanced to the finals of the mile run after posting a personal-best time in the preliminaries.
