Norley Places Sixth at NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

(GRINNELL, Iowa) – Junior Owen Norley (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Kenston) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team competed in the finals of the mile run at the 2016 NCAA Indoor Division III Track and Field Championships on Saturday, March 12.  The junior garnered All-America honors after placing sixth.

After posting a personal-best time in the preliminaries on Friday Norley topped his time in the finals, as he crossed in 4:12.58. He is now the third Tartan to receive the distinction for the indoor season and it was the sixth overall honor. Brian Harvey earned the accolade in the mile run in 2007 and 2008 while Thomas Vandenberg was an All-American in the 800-meter race in 2014 and 2015 and the 400-meter in 2015.

This year's championships are being held at the Charles Benson Bear '39 Recreation and Athletic Center in Grinnell, Iowa, with Grinnell College serving as the official host.
