Tartans Compete at 11th Annual Gator Invitational

(MEADVILLE, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team competed at the 11th Annual Gator Invitational host by Allegheny College on Friday, May 13.  The Tartans turned in two top finishes with wins in the 800-meter run and 1,500-meter run.

Senior Marc-Daniel Julien (Skokie, Ill./Niles West) won the 800-meter run with a time of 1:52.75 while junior Brady Wilson (Columbus, Ohio/St. Charles Prep (Wake Forest)) finished fifth in the event crossing in 1:55.60.

Junior Owen Norley (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Kenston) finished the 1,500-meter with a career-best time of 3:50.84 which currently ranks 18th nationally. In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, junior Curtis Watro (Audubon, Pa./Methacton) placed third with a time of 9:39.69.

Sophomore Jacob Schofel (Livingston, N.J./Livingston) threw the hammer 51.64 meters for fourth place and tossed the discus 42.97 meters to place 10th.
