Norley Named UAA Most Outstanding Indoor Performer, Coaching Staff Honored

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon University senior Owen Norley (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Kenston) was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Men's Most Outstanding Performer in Running Events and the coaching staff was honored as the Men's Coaching Staff of the Year. These awards come after the team won its second-ever UAA Indoor Track and Field Championship on Sunday, February 26.

Norley won the mile at the UAA Championships for the second straight season, as he crossed with a time of 4:13.24. The senior was also part of the distance medley relay that placed second and the 4x400-meter relay team that placed third at the championships. Norley's time in the mile and the DMR's time of 10:07.18 currently ranks 13th in Division III.

The Coaching Staff of the Year award is the second for the men's staff in indoor competition as head coach Gary Aldrich, associate head coach Tim Connelly and assistant coaches Michael Stark, Jose Rivera and Michele Bradley were all honored. The last time the program was awarded Coaching Staff of the Year was in 2013 when the team won its first UAA Indoor Championship. On that staff was Aldrich as the associate head coach and Stark in his second year as an assistant.
