Norley Breaks School Record at NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, Repeats as All-American

(NAPERVILLE, Ill.) - Senior Owen Norley (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Kenston) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team competed in the finals of the mile run at the 2017 NCAA Indoor Division III Track and Field Championships on Saturday, March 11. For the second straight season, the senior garnered All-America honors after placing fifth with a school record time.

On Friday afternoon, Norley recorded the second fastest time in the preliminaries after crossing in 4:12.16. He topped his time in the finals with a school record time of 4:09.13. The previous school record was held by Brian Harvey who ran the mile in 4:11.63 in 2009.

The distance medley relay team of senior Curtis Watro (Audubon, Pa./Methacton), senior Brady Wilson (Columbus, Ohio/St. Charles Prep (Wake Forest)), sophomore Isaac Mills (Fairfax, Va./Oakton) and freshman Evan Yukevich (Tokyo, Japan/American School in Japan) ran to an 11th-place finish on Friday 10:10.36.

The national meet is being hosted by North Central College in Naperville, Illinois.

The outdoor season begins for the Tartans at the Washington and Lee University Track and Field Carnival on Friday, March 17.
