Norley Advances to 1,500-Meter Final at NCAA Championships

(GENEVA, Ohio) – Senior Owen Norley (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Kenston) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team advanced to the final of the 1,500-meter run at the 2017 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The championships are being hosted in Geneva, Ohio, at SPIRE Institute.

Norley finished third in his heat and had the sixth fastest time in the preliminaries, crossing the finish line in 3:53.18. The top four in each of the two heats along with the next four fastest times advanced to the finals.

The senior will close his career at 12:35 p.m. on Saturday, May 27 in the finals of the 1,500-meter run. He is looking to achieve his third All-America honor and first on the outdoor track. Norley will need to place eighth or better to do so.
