Tartans Compete at Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic

(LEWISBURG, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team sent nine athletes to the two-day Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic on Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday evening, sophomore Evan Yukevich (Tokyo, Japan / American School in Japan) placed ninth in the unseeded 1,500-meter run in 3:58.24 while junior Will Mitchell (Chatham, N.J. / Chatham) was eighth in the unseeded 5,000-meter run in 15:10.14. Both times were season bests for the runners.

Junior Jared Moore (Beaver Dams, N.Y. / Corning-Painted Post) was the top finisher for the Tartans in the seeded 5,000-meter run when he finished in 14:55.30

On Sunday, junior Isaac Mills (Fairfax, Va. / Oakton) placed 16th in the 800-meter run in a season-best 1:54.34, sophomore Liam Walsh (Gaithersburg, Md. / Quince Orchard) placed 36th in a season-best 1:56.33, and freshman Arthur Dzieniszewski (Old Bridge, N.J. / Old Bridge) was 62nd in 1:57.69.

Senior Jacob Schofel (Livingston, N.J. / Livingston) picked up a fourth-place finish in the shot put with a mark of 55.82 while freshman Bram Miller (Colgate, Wis. / Kettle Moraine Lutheran) recorded a mark of 14.72 meters to place 14th in the shot put.

The Tartans continue the season on Thursday, April 19 at the Slippery Rock University Open.
