Schofel Named UAA Athlete of the Week

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Senior Jacob Schofel (Livingston, N.J./Livingston) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's outdoor track and field team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week for field events following his performance at the Gator Invitational on Friday.

Schofel placed second in the hammer throw with a personal-best mark of 56.99 meters and placed with in the discus with a throw of 42.01 meters. He currently ranks top in the UAA and 14th nationally in the hammer.

Schofel along with a select group of student-athletes will compete at the Great Lakes Elite Meet on Thursday, May 17. The host of the event is Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio.
