Men’s Track Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Awards

(NEW ORLEANS, La.) - The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the 2019 Division III All-Academic Track & Field Teams and Carnegie Mellon University was included on the list for the 23rd consecutive year. A total of 113 men's teams and 184 women's teams earned the distinction as a result of a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better for the 2018-19 academic year.

The men's track and field team achieved a team GPA of 3.43 for the 2018-2019 school year.

In addition to the team earning the award, 13 individuals were honored:
Sophomore Marvin Bennett Jr. (Baltimore, Md./Phillips Exeter Academy)
Junior Fred Dauphin (Brockton, Mass./Cardinal Spellman)
Freshman Graham Eversden (Chandler, Ariz./Chandler)
Senior Reed Farber (Mt. Lebanon, Pa./Mt. Lebanon)
Senior Andrew Harter (Saratoga, Calif./Saratoga)
Junior Hunter Hartshorne (Ithaca, N.Y./Ithaca)
Junior Josh Kalapos (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon)
Freshman Justin Kiefel (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown STEM Academy)
Sophomore Bram Miller (Colgate, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran)
Senior Isaac Mills (Fairfax, Va./Oakton)
Sophomore Jack Murphy (Ithaca, N.Y./Trumansburg)
Junior Liam Walsh (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard)
Junior Evan Yukevich (Tokyo, Japan/American School in Japan)

All 13 individuals qualified for the award by achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or better with either competing at the NCAA Championships or finishing the regular season ranked in the national top 50 in an individual event or top 35 in a relay event.

Mills and Yukevich each earned All-Academic recognition for the third time while Walsh and Miller were honored for the second time.
