Miller Repeats as All-American at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Championships

(GENEVA, Ohio) – At the second day of the 2022 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, graduate student Bram Miller (Colgate, Wis. / Kettle Moraine Lutheran) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team repeats as All-American in the shot put. The three-day championships are being held at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

Miller garnered his second consecutive All-America accolade in the shot put at the outdoor championships Friday afternoon. He tossed the element 17.10 meters and placed fourth. The honor marks the graduate students third for the outdoor season and fourth overall. His three All-America honors for the outdoor season are the most by any Tartan for their career while the four overall tie for the most.

Sophomore Thomas Rich (Rochester, N.Y. / Brighton) completed the final five events of the decathlon Saturday and ended with 6,439 points to place 13th. The sophomore recorded a career-best throw of 46.81 meters in the javelin to highlight his afternoon.

sophomore Alex Ivanov (Newton, Mass. / Newton) ran in the preliminaries of the 800-meter race and crossed in 1:54.40 to place 17th.

Senior Justin Kiefel (Downingtown, Pa. / Downingtown STEM Academy) will start the day on Saturday for the Tartans in the triple jump at 11:00 a.m. Freshman Cody Breidenbach (Nazareth, Pa. / Nazareth Area) then competes in the hammer throw at 1:45 p.m.

On the track, freshmen Aleksei Seletskiy (Palo Alto, Calif. / Palo Alto), graduate student Grant Johnson (Wilmette, Ill. / New Trier) and senior Michael OBroin (Park Ridge, Ill. / Saint Ignatius College Prep) will all run in the finals of their respective event. Seletskiy will start in the 1,500-meter run at 12:35 p.m., followed by Johnson at 2:25 p.m. in the 400-meter hurdles and then OBroin will close the events for the Tartans in the 5,000-meter run at 3:25 p.m.
