Tartans Compete at Dave Labor Invitational

(SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team competed at the Dave Labor Invitational hosted by Slippery Rock University on Saturday. The field was comprised of Division I, II and III athletes. Due to inclement weather, the Tartans competed in a limited number of events.

Top Performances on the Track:

  • In the 1,500-meter run, sophomore Colin McLaughlin took third with a time of 4:00.96 while senior Elijah Sech crossed with a personal-best time of 4:01.94 to place fifth.

Top Performances in the Field:

  • Sophomore Cody Breidenbach place second in the hammer throw with a season-best mark of 53.06 meters while senior Bailey O'Malley threw 47.84 meters to place fifth.
  • Freshman Harrison Hayward took second in the pole vault after clearing the bar at 4.21 meters.
