NCAA Postgraduate Scholarships
The scholarship is awarded to student-athletes who excel academically and athletically and who are in their final year of intercollegiate athletics competition. The Association awards up to 174 postgraduate scholarships annually, 87 for men and 87 for women.

To be eligible for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 (changed to 3.50 in 2022) on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
Cross country and track and field were part of the At-Large field until 2003-04 when it moved to its own category.

USTFCCCA All-Academic Awards
To earn academic recognition each athlete must maintain a cumulative grade point average at or above 3.30 and either compete at an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship or finish the regular season ranked in the national top 35 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 25 in a relay event. In 2017, qualification changed to ranking in top 50 in an individual event and top 35 in a relay event.
For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Meet. The team must also have a minimum 3.10 team cumulative grade point average.
