Tartans Open Season at Duquesne Duals

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's cross country team opened its 2014 campaign at the Duquesne Duals at Schenley Park Saturday morning, August 30. The Tartans who competed against Division I schools Duquesne, LaSalle, St. Joseph's, Youngstown State and Buffalo were joined by St. Vincent as the two lone Division III schools.

The Tartans were paced by junior Grant Langevin (Derry, N.H./Pinkerton Academy) as he crossed with a time of 27:34. Finishing four seconds behind Langevin was freshman Paul Fleming with a time of 27:38 in his first collegiate race. Sophomore Justin Rodenburg (Erie, Colo./Peak to Peak) and freshman Ryan Auld were the third and fourth Tartans to cross with times of 27:46 and 27:58, respectively.

The Tartans will race again on Friday, September 12 at Cooper's Lake Campground for the Slippery Rock Invitational at 5:45 p.m.
