Tartans Finish Second at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble

(OBERLIN, Ohio) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's cross country team traveled north to Oberlin, Ohio for the Oberlin College Inter-Regional Rumble. The team finished second in a field of 34, topping University Athletic Association (UAA) opponents Case Western Reserve University, University of Rochester and Emory University.

Senior George Degen (Madison, Wis./West) led the Tartans for the fourth straight race, finishing sixth overall in 25:38.3. Sophomore Ryan Archer (Pittsburgh, Pa./Vincentian Academy) was the second Tartan to cross the finish line, as he did in 25:55.5 for 13th place.

Junior Brian Bollens () was third for the Tartans, finishing in 23rd place in a time of 26:09.4 while junior Joshua Antonson (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) ran the 8k course in 26:19.2 for 38th place. Junior Marc-Daniel Julien (Skokie, Ill./Niles West) finished the course in 26:28.9 for 50th as freshman Ryan Auld (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central) was just behind him in 26:29.8 for 52nd place.

Finishing seventh for the Tartans was sophomore William Casazza (Barrington, R.I./Barrington) in 76th place in a time of 26:44.6.

The Tartans will next compete on Saturday, November 1 at the UAA Championhips hosted by Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
