Tartans Finish 18th at 2015 NCAA Men's Cross Country Championships

(Oshkosh, Wis.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's cross country team traveled to University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh for the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 21. The Tartans placed 18th out of 32 teams with 439 points, while the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire won its first-ever title.

The frontrunner on the 8k course for the Tartans was junior Ryan Archer (Pittsburgh, Pa./Vincentian Academy). The junior crossed the line in 25:14.6 to take 57th place.

Sophomore Ryan Auld (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central) led the tightest pack of runners. He finished in 119th place with a time of 25:37.40. Senior Josh Antonson (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) and freshman William Mitchell (Chatham, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) were next to finish for the Tartans as Anstonson grabbed 132nd place in 25:40.50, while Mitchell took 135th place in 25:42.20.

Behind Mitchell was junior Owen Norley (Pittsburgh, Pa./Pittsburgh Central Catholic) in 153rd place in 25:47.40. He was joined by junior Brian Bollens (Pittsburgh, Pa./Pittsburgh Central Catholic) in 25:49.90 for 158th place as senior Marc-Daniel Julien (Skokie, Ill./Niles West) completed the course in 26:20.50 for 237th place.

The 2015 appearance in the championship race marked the 21st time the Tartans.
