The NCAA has just announced that the city of Pittsburgh will host 11 NCAA Championships from 2018 to 2022. Along with SportsPITTSBURGH, Carnegie Mellon University will serve as the host for the NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Regional in 2019 and the NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships in 2020. In total, Pittsburgh was awarded 22 preliminary and finals rounds of NCAA championship events in Tuesday's announcements, the most of any city in the country.

The Carnegie Mellon University men's cross country team competed in the 2016 NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championships hosted at the E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park in Louisville, Kentucky, on Saturday, November, 19. The Tartans finished 20th out of 32 teams with 480 points while North Central University won the team championship with 60 points.

The Carnegie Mellon University men's cross country team received an at-large invitation to the 2016 NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championships which will be held at the E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday, November 19. It marks the Tartans third straight team appearance at the championships and 10th in the last 12 years.

The Carnegie Mellon University men's cross country team competed at the 2016 Mideast Regional on Saturday, November 12, at DeSales University in Center Valley, Pa. The Tartans finished third in a field of 52 teams with 115 points. Johns Hopkins University won the meet as Haverford College finished second.

The Carnegie Mellon University men's cross country team earned its second straight University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship on Saturday, October 29 when seven members of the team finished in the top 18 to earn 58 points. The Tartans tied Washiington University in St. Louis for the team title as the Bears also tallied 58 points.
