Tartans Win Inter-Regional Rumble

(OBERLIN, Ohio) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's cross country team finished the Inter-Regional Rumble hosted by Oberlin College with 75 points to win the event. Leading the Tartans in the 32-team race was freshman Edward Goebel (Abington, Pa./La Salle College).

Goebel finished the race in eighth place after crossing the finish line in 24:59.9. Junior Ryan Auld (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central) was the second to cross the finish line for the Tartans, finishing 2.1 seconds behind Goebel in ninth with a time of 25:02.0.

Senior Curtis Watro (Audubon, Pa./Methacton) was 14th in 25:10.5 while senior Ryan Archer (Pittsburgh, Pa./Vincentian Academy) and sophomore Jared Moore (Beaver Dams, N.Y./Corning-Painted Post) placed 21st and 23rd, respectively. Archer posted a time of 25:15.0 and Moore crossed in 25:18.2.

Sophomores Aadi Mhatre (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) and William Mitchell (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) crossed with times of 25:22.2 and 25:22.6 to place 26th and 27th in the field of 276 runners.

The Tartans will next compete at the University Athletic Association Championships on Saturday, October 29 at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
