Goebel Garners ECAC South Men’s Cross Country Rookie of the Week

(DANBURY, Conn.) – Freshman Edward Goebel (Abington, Pa./La Salle College) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's cross country team was named the Corvias Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week.
    
Goebel helped the Tartans to a first-place team finish at the 32-team Inter-Regional Rumble hosted by Oberlin College on Saturday, October 15. Goebel was the first Tartan to cross the finish line and eighth overall runner in a field of 276 competitors with a time of 24:59.9.

The Tartans will next compete at the University Athletic Association Championships on Saturday, October 29 at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
