#16 Tartans Race to Third at Paul Short Invitational

(BETHLEHEM, Pa.) - The 16th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's cross country team finished third in the non-Division I race at the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University on Friday, September 29.

Junior Aadi Mhatre (Bridgewater, N.J. / Bridgewater-Raritan) paced the Tartans by finishing the 8K race in 24 minutes and 59 seconds. His time put him 17th overall. Fellow junior Jared Moore (Beaver Dams, N.Y. / Corning-Painted Post) was 26th overall in 25:15 while sophomore Liam Walsh (Gaithersburg, Md. / Quince Orchard) closed the race in 25:18 for 29th place.

Junior William Mitchell (Chatham, N.J. / Chatham) finished the course in 25:19 for 31st place before senior Jordan Safer (Brookline, Mass. / Brookline) finished in 25:26 and 35th place. Sophomore Evan Yukevich (Tokyo, Japan / American School in Japan) wasn't far behind Safer, as he finished the race in 25:29 for 37th place and junior Andrew Harter (Saratoga, Calif. / Saratoga) was two seconds behind Yukevich in 39th place.

The Tartans will next race at the Carnegie Mellon Hampton Inn Pittsburgh Invitational on Saturday, October 7 in Schenley Park. The race is set to begin at 11:00 a.m.
