Karee Named CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-America

Carnegie Mellon University sophomore Matt Karee (Elmira, N.Y./Notre Dame) was selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) to the Google Cloud Academic All-America Division III Track & Field/Cross Country Team. The honor is the first for Karee, who is in his first year of eligibility, and the first since 2015 for the men's track and field and cross country programs.
Three Men Named CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-District

Three Carnegie Mellon University men’s track and field and cross country athletes have been honored by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) as Google Cloud Men’s Cross Country/Track and Field Academic All-District selections. Junior Josh Kalapos (Mt. Lebanon, Pa./Mt.Lebanon) and sophomore Matt Karee (Elmira, N.Y./Notre Dame) participate on both teams while sophomore Bram Miller (Colgate, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) competes on the track and field team following the fall playing football.
Student-Athlete Alumni Mentoring Program: Networking Forged Professional Path

Senior cross country and track & field runner Aadi Mhatre signed up for the Student-Athlete Mentoring Program at its inception in 2016 not knowing the tremendous impact it would have on his professional career and education in just his first year at Carnegie Mellon University. Three years later, the senior reflects on his mentor, Dr. Baris Polat’s, lasting impression on his current career goals.
Five Men's Cross Country Runners Garner All-Academic Honors From USTFCCCA

Five members of the Carnegie Mellon University men's cross country team were named to the All-Academic team by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). In addition, the Tartans earned all-academic team accolades sporting a 3.44 cumulative average.
Tartans Race to 18th Place at NCAA Championships

The Carnegie Mellon University men's cross country team finished the 2018 NCAA Cross Country Championsthips at the Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, Wisconsin, in 18th place after getting tripped early and boxed in during the first mile of the race. The finish improves upon last year's 21st-place showing.
Connelly Named Mideast Region Coach of the Year

Carnegie Mellon University head men's cross country coach Tim Connelly was named NCAA Division III Mideast Region Coach of the Year for the 2018 collegiate season by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The honor comes following Connelly leading the sixth-ranked Tartans to their first regional title since 2014 and fifth in school history.
Tartans Poised for Run at NCAA Championships

By winning the 2018 NCAA Mideast Regional Championship this past Saturday, the Carnegie Mellon University men's cross country team automatically qualified for the 2018 NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championships which will be hosted by University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh at the Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, Wisconsin on Saturday, November 17. It marks the Tartans fifth straight team appearance at the championships and 12th in the last 13 years.
#7 Tartans Race Past #4 Haverford and #6 Johns Hopkins for the Mideast Region Championship

The 7th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men’s cross country team were the champions of the 2018 NCAA Mideast Regional Championships hosted by DeSales University this Saturday. Defeating fourth-ranked Haverford College and sixth-ranked Johns Hopkins University, the Tartans finished with six men in the top-35.

The Carnegie Mellon University men’s cross country team was this year’s runner up at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships hosted by the University of Chicago at the Wayne E. Dannehl Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The Tartans were second to Washington University in St. Louis by just six points.
Tartans Place Fourth at Muddy Rowan Inter-Regional

The Carnegie Mellon University men’s cross country team placed fourth at the Rowan University Inter-Regional Invitational this Saturday in Glassboro, New Jersey. The team performed despite adverse conditions on the muddy course.

The seventh ranked Carnegie Mellon University men’s cross-country team won its home Hampton Inn Pittsburgh – University/Medical Center Invitational on Saturday. The Tartans finished with seven men in the top ten in a field of Division I, II and III runners.
Tartans Compete in Gold Race at Lehigh University Paul Short Invitational

Competing for the first time in the gold race at the Lehigh University Paul Short Invitational, the Carnegie Mellon University men’s cross-country team placed 11th in a field of 41 teams. The Tartans were the second Division III team to finish in a field of Division I and Division III runners.
#13 Tartans Take Title at Allegheny Classic for Second Straight Year

The 13th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men’s cross-country team was the definitive champion at the Allegheny College Classic on Saturday, September 15. The men’s team finished with eight runners in the top 15 to record their second consecutive win this season and second consecutive win at Allegheny.
Singh Leads Men’s Cross Country at Duquesne Duals

The Carnegie Mellon men’s cross country team started off the 2018 season at the Duquesne Duals held in Shenley Park Saturday morning. The men finished second in a field of Division I runners and the Tartans defeating both the University of Pittsburgh and Youngstown State.
