Five Men's Cross Country Runners Garner All-Academic Honors From USTFCCCA

(NEW ORLEANS, La.) – Five members of the Carnegie Mellon University men's cross country team were named to the All-Academic team by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). In addition, the Tartans earned all-academic team accolades sporting a 3.44 cumulative average.

Junior Josh Kalapos (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Mt. Lebanon), sophomores Matt Karee (Elmira, N.Y. / Notre Dame), Naveen Pai (Palo Alto, Calif. / Palo Alto) and Andrew Singh (Marietta, Ga. / Walton) along with freshman Michael Obroin (Park Ridge, Ill. / Saint Ignatius College Prep) were named All-Academic honorees.

The USTFCCCA All-Academic award honors those student-athletes who have succeeded both academically and athletically. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must carry a minimum 3.3 cumulative grade point average and must have finished among the top 25 percent of the field at their respective NCAA regional meet.
