Tartans Race to a Perfect Score

 (MEADVILLE, Pa.) – The 7th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's cross country team topped the field at the Allegheny College Classic on Saturday. The men's team finished with 13 runners in the top 15 and a perfect score to record their second consecutive win this season.

Senior Liam Walsh (Gaithersburg Md. / Quince Orchard) finished first for the Tartans overall in a time of 20:49 on the four mile course. Junior Matt Karee (Elmira, N.Y. / Notre Dame) finished one second behind Walsh in a time of 20:55.

Sophomore Michael OBroin (Park Ridge, Ill. / Saint Ignatius College Prep) marked his first race of the season with a third place finish in a time of 20:55. Fellow Sophomore Graham Eversden (Chandler, Ariz. / Chandler) also finished just a second behind Obroin in a time of 20:56.

Senior Edward Goebel (Abington, Pa. / La Salle College) finished fifth for the Tartans in a time of 20:59. In his second collegiate race, freshman Justin Hsu (San Carlos, Ca. / Carlmont High) placed sixth with a time of 21:00 to close out the pack in a ten second spread.

Senior Evan Yukevich (Tokyo, Japan / American School in Japan) closed out the Tartans top seven with a seventh place finish overall in a time of 21:13.

The Tartans will compete again at the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University on Saturday, October 5.
