OBroin Receives Weekly UAA Honor

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon University men's cross country sophomore Michael OBroin (Park Ridge, Ill./Saint Ignatius College Prep) was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for his performance at the Lehigh University Paul Short Invitational on Saturday, October 5.

OBroin led the seventh-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's cross country team to the top of the field of Division III teams in the gold race against regionally and nationally ranked Division I teams. The sophomore finished the 8k course 91st overall in a time of 24:31 against Division I and III runners to lead the Tartans to a 23rd-place finish out of 44 teams.

The Tartans next race at their home invitational on Saturday, October 12. The Carnegie Mellon Hampton Inn Pittsburgh – University/Medical Center Invitational is set to begin at 10:00 a.m. in Schenley Park.
