Tartans Win Robert Morris Colonial Invitational

(CLINTON, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's cross country team won the Robert Morris Colonial Invitational on Friday afternoon. The event was held on the 8k course at Youthtowne in Clinton, Pennsylvania with the Tartans scoring 22 points and Division I Northern Kentucky University placing second with 57.

Graduate student Matt Karee (Elmira, N.Y. / Notre Dame) placed third with a time of 26:22.1 to pace the Cardinal and Gray. Sophomore David Durdaller (Hewlett, N.Y. / George W. Hewlett) and senior Michael OBroin (Park Ridge, Ill. / Saint Ignatius College Prep) finished less than a second apart with times of 27:04.1 and 27:04.9 to finish fourth and fifth, respectively.

Freshman Aleksei Seletskiy (Palo Alto, Calif. / Palo Alto) crossed with a time of 27:14.0 and placed seventh while sophomore Charlie Murphy (Roanoke, Va. / Patrick Henry) had a time of 27:18.5 to place eighth.

The Tartans will compete again at the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University on Friday, October 1.
