Tartan Men Finish Second at Home Invitational

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's cross country team finished second at its annual home invitational on Saturday, October 9 in Schenley Park when neighbor Duquesne University taking the title with six of its men finishing in the top 10. The Tartans raced to three top 15 finishes along the 8k course after intermittent showers the past few days left a muddy and wet terrain.

Sophomore Jacob Hsu (Arcadia, Calif. / Arcadia) led the Tartans with a fifth-place finish after covering the course in 26 minutes and 36 seconds. Freshman Aleksei Seletskiy (Palo Alto, Calif. / Palo Alto) was second for the team and eighth overall in 26:49.6.

A pair of first years were next for the Tartans as Eamon Brady (Park Ridge, Ill. / Maine South) and Yonah Goldberg (West Hartford, Conn. / William H. Hall) finished back-to-back in 15th and 16th-place, respectively. Brady completed the course in 27:14.7 with Goldberg crossing the finish line in 27:19.1.

The fifth finisher for the Tartans was sophomore Jackson Wood (Newbury, N.H. / Beverly) who took 20th place overall in a time of 27:30.0.

The Tartans will next race at the Oberlin College Interregional Rumble on Saturday, October 16 with the race slated to begin at 11:15 a.m.
