Six Tartans Earn All-Academic Honor from USTFCCCA

(NEW ORLEANS, La.) – Six members of the Carnegie Mellon University men's cross country team were named to the All-Academic team by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). In addition, the Tartans earned all-academic team accolades sporting a 3.53 cumulative average.

Graduate student Matt Karee (Elmira, N.Y. / Notre Dame), senior Michael OBroin (Park Ridge, Ill. / Saint Ignatius College Prep), junior Elijah Sech (San Clemente, Calif. / San Clemente), sophomore Charlie Murphy (Roanoke, Va. / Patrick Henry) along with freshmen Eamon Brady (Park Ridge, Ill. / Maine South) and Matthew Coyle (Park Ridge, Ill. / Maine South) were named All-Academic honorees.

The USTFCCCA All-Academic award honors those student-athletes who have succeeded both academically and athletically. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must carry a minimum 3.3 cumulative grade point average and must have finished among the top 25 percent of the field at their respective NCAA regional meet.
