Tartans Punch Ticket to NCAAs, Win Sixth Straight Mid-Atlantic Regional

(LOCK HAVEN, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon men's cross country team competed at the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships on Saturday. The Tartans placed first out of 29 teams in the 8k race.

Results:

  • Senior Matthew Coyle crossed first for the Tartans in 2nd place out of 100 athletes with a time of 24:16.7.
  • Senior Aleksei Seletskiy finished in 5th place with a time of 24:32.6.
  • Junior Ryan Podnar crossed right behind in 6th place with a time of 24:35.0.
  • Senior Eamon Brady earned a time of 24:46.8, finishing in 11th place.
  • Senior Seth Williams placed 15th with a time of 24:52.4.
  • Senior Anthony Toskin crossed in 24:58.6, placing 18th.
  • Sophomore Matthew Short earned a time of 25:16.7, placing 24th.

Notes:

  • All seven earned All-Region honors by finishing in the top 35 of the meet.
  • The region victory is the Tartans sixth straight and eighth since 2008.
