Song Selected as UAA Softball Hitter of the Week

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon University softball sophomore Emily Song (Mount Arlington, N.J. / Roxbury) was selected as the University Athletic Association (UAA) Softball Hitter of the Week for her efforts as the Tartans went 5-3 for the week in Florida.

Song led the Carnegie Mellon offense for the week with a .480 batting average while playing in all eight games. She recorded the most hits with 12 which included two doubles and a home run. Her five RBIs, seven runs scored, and six stolen bases also led the team. In the Tartans' season-ending 3-1 victory against Skidmore, Song had three hits and scored the first two runs. Song also played a big role in a 6-4 win against Mount St. Joseph with a double and a home run with two RBIs and two runs scored. The sophomore recorded a hit in seven of the eight games while recording four multi-hit games.
