Murphy Garners UAA, ECAC Athlete of the Week and D3Hoops.com Team of the Week Honors

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) - Sophomore Lisa Murphy (McLean, Va./McLean) was named the University Athletic Association Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week and Corvias ECAC Athlete of the Week after leading the Tartans to a 4-0 record last week. Murphy was also recognized nationally by D3Hoops.com on the Team of the Week.

Murphy averaged 24.2 points and 13.2 rebounds a game during the four-game stretch where the Tartans won by an average of nine points. She recorded three double-doubles and was one rebound shy of a fourth.

The sophomore scored a season-high 29 points in the team's 74-58 win against Grove City after recording 15 points, 12 rebounds and a career tying six blocks on the road against Penn State Altoona. She led the team to the Marietta College Jim Meagle Turkey Shoot Championship, earning MVP honors with an average of 26.5 points and 16.0 rebounds. In the championship game, Murphy hauled in a career-tying 21 rebounds.

Murphy and the Tartans will return to the court on Tuesday, December 30 when they host Westminster College at 4:00 p.m.
